PROSTATE HEALTH EDUCATION
I'm Bishop Bob Jackson, Pastor of the Acts Full Gospel Church in the city of Oakland. I am here to tell you about a life saving symposium that every Black man need to attend. It could just possibly save your life. It is a symposium concerning Prostate Cancer. The Prostate Health Education Network, Alameda County Public Health-Office of Urban Male Health and the UCSF Helen Diller Comprehensive Cancer Center have come together to host an educational symposium and screening designed to reach Black men.
Prostate cancer is a health crisis within Black America where 1 in 5 men are diagnosed with the disease. These men then die at a rate 150% higher than all other men, making this the largest racial disparity for any type of major cancer. Prostate Cancer is the second leading cause of death among Black men. The good news is you do not have to die from this disease. If detected early it can be treated successfully.
There are warning signs to help you know if your prostate is being impacted. There are test to discover if your prostate is cancerous or non cancerous. There are various treatments that have been proven to be effective in the fight against prostate cancer. All this and more will be included in this powerful symposium. All seats are free of charge.
