Acts Full Gospel's Ministries
Acts Full Gospel Church ministers
to both the spiritual and natural needs of Christians. Our ministries
serve adults and children, couples and singles, and the community at
large. Strong Christian fellowship is a necessary part of your walk
with the Lord Jesus Christ. Companionship with like minded believers
in service and reverence to the Lord Jesus Christ is required but, we
also must come together to fellowship with one another.
Whether you want to offer your talent in service to the church body,
have a need in your spirit, or just want to fellowship, Acts has a
dynamic and diverse team of ministries in service to the Lord Jesus
Christ. Our ministries. Our
ministries are working diligently to deliver great events without
sacrificing their dedication to the needs of the individual. Come see
how fulfilling and fun a full Christian life can be.

New Members
Orientation
When one is first saved, that person is just in the beginning stages
of his or her salvation walk. Indeed, we are to grow up into the Lord
Jesus. (Eph. 4:15) That can only be accomplished when a new member
desires the sincere milk of the word that he or she may grow thereby
and does something about it. (I Peter 2:2). It is to this end that our
New Members' Foundation Classes exist. These classes are available to
anyone who wants to obtain a clearer understanding of who the Lord
Jesus Christ is, as well as to learn who the Holy Ghost is and why we
need Him in our lives. Everyone is welcome to attend, especially new
Christians, transferring Christians, and anyone wanting to do the
first works over (by being refreshed in the Holy Ghost).
New member orientation is held every Sunday at 10:15 am in Room 6 of
the Learning Center.
Apollos Ministry
In 1 Corinthians 3:6, Paul says of Apollos, "I have planted, Apollos
watered but, God gave the increase." Founded upon this scripture, the
Apollos Ministry is devoted to watering the seeds planted by the
door-to-door witnesses (SWAT). Apollos members follow up by telephone
with souls who have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ. Through
compassion, patience and caring, this ministry is interrupting Satan's
plans to discourage new believers.
Multi Media Ministry
"That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye may
have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the father,
and with his son Jesus Christ," I John 1:3. The Video/Audio
Ministry exists to enhance the worship experience for those who
celebrate our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Tapes, CD's and DVD's are
available for Sunday Worship services, Wednesday Night Bible
Study,
Friday Night Holy Ghost Service, and select special events. Audio and
video tapes are sold after service Sunday morning services and after
Bible Study on Wednesday nights.
Brotherhood Ministry
The Brotherhood Department ministers to men from all walks of life.
Chief among its goals is to promote unity within the body of Christ
and to teach all men how to become "Mighty Men of God". Being a man
has its challenges and its rewards. Come see how the Brotherhood is
helping men meet them and receive them.
Chazon Ministry
Chazon was put in place to support, encourage and promote new members
in their spiritual walk through the sixth month period that they are
deciding how to express their own spiritual gift. Those who complete
new members classes will be invited to participate in monthly meetings
to offer additional support to encourage progress in their spiritual
growth through classroom discussion and sharing of resources. Chazon
telephone's new members from time to time to see how the are, and
invite them o some group sessions to learn more about the church and
the various ministries. The Chazon Ministry meets on Sundays between
morning services in the Learning Center
Civic Committee
The Civic Concern Committee was formed in 2001 with the primary
objective of creating awareness and voicing our concerns to the
political leaders and elected officials of the city. This Civic
Concern Committee endeavors to participate in and be an integral part
of making a positive impact on the future of our schools, our city,
county, state, and federal governments for their good. Members with
certain concerns should direct them to the Civic Committee by calling
the church office and expressing those concerns.
Bereavement Ministry
The Bereavement Ministry deals with the inevitable state of sorrow
over the death or departure of loves ones.
The Bereavement Ministry meets on Wednesday at 7p.m. in the learning
center.
Convalescent Ministry
Consider what a person feels when they are in need of a smile, a gift,
a song, or a prayer and no one comes to bless them with such. A sense
of abandonment, fear, depression and loneliness are common among
people who do not receive the gift of simple human kindness. The
Convalescent ministry is dedicated to providing comfort and a little
joy to the aged and infirmed. If you have a truly sweet spirit and
would like to brighten the lives of these souls,
please contact the Church office to learn how you can serve in this
ministry.
Deacons Ministry
"...And they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost,
and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and
Nicolas, a proselyte of Antioch...." (Acts 6:5). At Acts Full Gospel
Church, the deacons are the pillars of the church and are a unified
group of brothers in Christ. They provide leadership and spiritual
support with opening prayers and Scripture readings during the
services, as well as provide security, assistance with parking,
building maintenance, and aid to the elderly and other worshippers
with special needs.
Father's Board
The purpose of the Father's Board is to provide a place of fellowship
within the Body of Christ, which meets the needs and concerns of
Brothers who are 60 years of age and over, through the Word of God.
They work diligently to provide a platform from which the members of
the Father's Board can share the benefits of their experience and
acquired wisdom with the younger brothers; to that end that they may
avoid the pitfalls and snares that they once suffered. This way, the
Father's board participates fully in the church's effort to feed the
saints who are in need.
Healthy Temple Ministry
This is a Health Education Ministry that provides education on the
leading causes of poor health among many African Americans and other
ethnic minority groups. There are many health problems that are
peculiar to African Americans and other ethnic minorities that do not
affect the majority population. This ministry provides free
preventative health screenings and referrals to healthcare service
providers for the physical body, while the spirit-man is being renewed
by the Word of God.
Hospitality Ministry
Paul informs us on one of the reasons for this duty of saints when he
said, "Be not forgetful to entertain strangers; for thereby some have
entertained angels unawares." (Hebrews 13:2). Our Hospitality Ministry
meets, greets, and prays with all attendees at our church services.
The Hospitality Greeters meet attendees in the lobby of the sanctuary,
as they arrive for services. We want to make everyone feel the love of
God in the church and in the individual Greeter.
Intercessory Prayer Ministry
The Bible says that "...The effectual, fervent prayer of the righteous
man availeth much." (James 5:16) This ministry exists to assist the
saints and the city of Oakland. Intercessory "Prayer Warriors" meet
daily to pray to the Lord Jesus Christ on behalf of our government,
churches, special prayer requests, and to pray for all the needs and
concerns of the world. This ministry is open to anyone who wishes to
join in prayer. We meet in the Church's Learning Center Monday through
Friday for one hour (6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.), and on Wednesdays at
12:00 noon and 6:00 p.m. Submit prayer requests to the church office
by telephone.
Marriage Ministry
God has styled the marriage after the Bride of Christ, the church, and
He has given strict instructions concerning who we should marry and
how to assist marriages that are in trouble. Of the marriages in our
society, over 50% of them fail, but the Godly marriage should not be
that way. So Acts Full Gospel Church has developed the Marriage
Ministry to minister to both hurting and healthy marriages. We offer a
place for fellowship and support for both married and engaged couples.
The Marriage Ministry meets every 2nd and 4th Tuesday, unless otherwise announced.
Men Of Valor Program (MOVA)
Bishop Bob Jackson, being particularly grieved by the increasing
murder rate among young African American men in Oakland, established
the Men Of Valor program (MOVA) in 2001. This program’s mission is to
house, feed, train, and minister to men between 18 and 30 who are in
transition from incarceration and homelessness. Men of Valor will
prepare these young men for tools needed to not only survive but, to
become and remain independent and successful. MOVA is purposed with
restoring what the adversary comes to steal first; hope, faith and
self-respect.
Mother's Board
What is a mother of a church? The dictionary says: a female parent,
head of a religious community. Being a mother of the church consists of
mentoring the young women, participating in and supporting the church service, making a commitment
to call and visit the sick and infirmed, encourage the saints, and
supporting Acts' families during times of bereavement. The Mother’s Board
also coordinates Holy Communion every first Sunday.
Music Department
The Music Department of Acts Full Gospel is well known and
appreciated. Our dynamic leaders, musicians and choir members deliver
stirring and uplifting songs of praise unto the Lord Jesus Christ. The
Music Department consists of the Chords of Acts Adult Choir, the Teen
Choir, Children's Choir, Praise Team and Men's Choir.
Prison Ministry
The purpose of the Prison Ministry at Acts Full Gospel Church is to
equip the saints for service to the Lord Jesus Christ in jails,
prisons, and juvenile halls. Thus multiplying discipleship inside the
walls. Helping people to help people, our mission is to introduce
inmates to the Lord Jesus Christ so that they may find His purpose for
their life.
Restoration & Healing Ministry
This powerful ministry assists those who struggle with various forms
of addictions and dependencies. They are ministered to and discover
the strength to overcome these strongholds. Anyone who is battling any
addiction is encouraged to come out on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. in the
Learning Center.
Sign Language Ministry
The sign language ministry is available to anyone who is deaf or
hearing impaired. Interpreters translate the Word of God, songs of
praise and worship in sign language during all services. If you are
interested in learning sign language or would like to become a part of
this ministry, contact the church office.
Sunday School
Consistent application of the word of the Lord Jesus Christ is
essential to maintenance of a solid Christian foundation. The Sunday
School Ministry of Acts Full Gospel works diligently to bring you a
wide variety of Sunday School classes. Lessons are delivered on a
course by course basis. Classes are offered to everyone of all ages.
Sunday School is held at 10:00 a.m. in the Learning Center every
Sunday.
Transportation Ministry
We are blessed to be able to provide door-to-door transportation to
and from all regular church services (there is no transportation for
Wednesday and Thursday classes and ministries). Call the church office
to schedule rides.
Usher Board
The usher board serves all members, visitors, and guests to assist in
keeping all services smooth and orderly. This "front lines" ministry
works graciously under pressure to help create a comfortable
environment for everyone attending service.
Visitation Ministry
Acts Full Gospel Visitation ministry is blessing sick patients in
hospitals, and those through prayer and fellowship. If you feel
compelled by Christ to offer your compassion and loving kindness to
serve in this ministry, contact the church office. We welcome you.
Water Baptism
“John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of
repentance for the remission of sins. And there went out unto Him all
the land of Judea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of Him
in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.” (Mark1:4). Baptism is
offered on the first Saturday of every month unless otherwise
announced. Please call the church office to schedule.
Women's Ministry
The theme for the Women's Ministry in 2008 is "LIVING GREAT IN
2008, series, the
ministry is aiming at feeding the spirit through the understanding of
the Word of the Lord Jesus Christ and fun fellowship. The Women's
Ministry is planning dynamic
sessions that will inform and enlighten. They meet on the 3rd Tuesday
of each month.
